This is the theme that I have adopted for this year 2022. No need to go through the dramatics, Just Do It!
Last year 2021 has taught me some major lessons. One in particular is that “everything does not last forever”! As much as we would like to hope for or hold on to, there is always an end date. I’ve experienced the death of both of my parents within a three week span in between them. The passing of my dear mother was sudden. I did NOT see this coming. My heart shattered. While my father was battling a terminal diagnosis, the news of my mother may have taken the last bit of fight he had. Losing both of them, so sudden, took a toll on me and my family. For the first time in my life, I had experienced an anxiety attack and had to seek some sort of therapy.
I also lost relationships which I did not see coming. I’ve had some individuals close to me hurt me so much that the best thing for me (and my peace of mind) was to walk away. I’ve grown to understand that not everyone is for you and there are seasons where people come and go. Those that truly are for you, remain.
But last year was not all gloom, there were great highlights as well. Although still dealing with the COVID 19 pandemic, I was able to do some domestic and international traveling which I love to do. My children, Kayla and Shane, were able to go back to in-person learning after doing virtual learning for a year and maintain honor roll status. I was able to be featured on some platforms as a brand ambassador for some brands. Even with everything going on in my life personally, I’ve managed to maintain some sort of presence on my social media platforms with my most recent venture with modeling.
I do not know what 2022 will look like but what I do know is that I’m going to move with a mindset to “JUST DO IT”. I have so many things I’d like to accomplish and the only way to get it done is to stop talking and start doing.
I hope you’ll take the same approach. Life is too short. Time is not our friend. And to be honest, I do not want to live with any regrets.
JUST DO IT!
“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
